Paper!!

Train Wreck Mommy and Daddy let me open my first Christmas gift on Monday evening from Aunt Maggie and Uncle Dudley.

I'm interested.  Yet, cautious.

Paper!!  Paper!  Paper!  Paper!

Investigating.

Together.

Apart!!!

Aunt Maggie and Uncle Dudley, thank you so much for my Charlie Brown Christmas book and ornaments.  Mommy and I already read the book, and we put the ornaments on the tree.  We were looking for more Christmas books!

In other news ... I started dragging around my lambie blankie (from Auntie Mandy) on the floor.  Lambie Blankie and I want to go everywhere.  Daddy thinks I'm helping him mop!

Did you start celebrating the holidays yet?

Double Digits: Happy 10 Month Bday

Last Monday on 11/7/11 it was my 10 Month Bday!  Happy Birthday to Me, Mad Max!  (Yes, once again, Mommy and I are a bit behind).  Mommy tried to take 100s and 100s of photos, but many of them looked like this above.  (What do you expect at -5:30 am or whatever it was ... !  I didn't even have my morning Scotch and newspaper time yet!)

And some photos looked like this.  Feet.  Monkey feet.

Some photos looked like this.  When I'm really excited I throw my hands in the air.  Yay!  Don't you?

About to whistle.  Obviously.

Later at Gma J's aka Mimi's.  Strike a pose?

I also celebrated my 10 Month later that night with Lambie.  Lately my hobby is to claw out his eyes.  Train Wreck Mommy says, "no!  no!  Poor Lambie."  Well, Mommy ...if he didn't have eyes, he wouldn't be staring at me at night, now would he?

How has your November been so far?  I'll be sure to share more soon!

Deep in the Heart of Texas ...

I may be an urban baby and read the New York Times with Mommy, but I'm also a Houstonian ... which means, it's rodeo time, kids (Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo).  I went to my first rodeo with Mommy and Gma and Gpa A.  Save a stroller, ride a horsey!

Here I am above with Gma A and Mommy ... we just arrived to see some of the animals indoors ...and the exhibits.  Mommy was able to walk past the Fried Oreos and Snickers without indulging herself!  Good job, Mommy.

Here I am above being embarrassed by the family.  They are family afterall!  Hah.  Love you.

Mommy's favorite part of the rodeo (besides of course the food) ... are the baby animals.  And you know Mad Max likes anything Super Baby!

Hmm, this looks familiar.  Hey piggies!  Wow, I want a brother or a sister, but that is a little much.  Duggar piggies!

Lambies!  Mad Max loves lambs.  Check out my blogs tagged with Nursery and Lambies to see more.

Black sheep in the family.  Just like me, haha.

Mad Max is a little bit of country ... and a little bit of rock 'n roll.

Look at me on a Longhorn!  Mom, I got this ... no hands!

The Rodeo is also about gettin' yo' grub on.  Mommy and I don't eat meat, but the Super Gs do...

Gpa A ... next year, let's try the Turkey Leg!  I'll try the Tofurkey Leg!

Hey Mommy, Mommy ...can you get us some shrimp with a side of fried stuff?  Daddy isn't here!  I won't tell, promise.

My Mommy and I also really enjoy looking at the Rodeo art from the young learners.  Auntie JCranc, we should do this next year with the Wizards!  Check out the Rodeo art behind us!

Hey, umm ... where is the Super Infant Art section?

Daddy!  Daddy we missed you!  I bet you could have won us lots of prizes at the carnival.  Love you, Daddy!

Here I am a little bit wiped out after the rodeo.  See you next year, Cowgirls!  Mad Max will be in chaps!

How many adults does it take to open a Super Stroller? ...

Before I answer the question above ...

Let me fill you in on what a nightmare the other day was ... (and you wonder why I often just have my eyes closed!).

Train Wreck Mommy and I went to visit Gma A and Great Auntie Jackie earlier this week ... Mommy keeps telling me I need to practice being at Gma A's some since I will be there soon (I know not of what she speaks... all I hear is "Lock Up"... but I guess it isn't too terrible that my Baby Leave gets extended.  I will miss you Mommy!  I will worry about how you will survive at YES Prep SE without me, haha!).

We also went there to go shopping.  That's when everything went south.

But before we get to that ...

Here is my new Super Bed I get to sleep in at the Train Wrecks... I mean, Gma A and Gpa A - love you!

Hey Monkey!  You will have to sleep elsewhere.  Thank you.  I am a Super Safe Infant.  Even though my middle name is Danger.

Here I am trying at the pee pee and poo poo changing area.  What are you looking at turtle?  This isn't a peep show.

Here Gma is giving me my first bottle from her.  Didn't taste like Scotch.  Fired.  Mommy!  Mommy!  I think I have to come with you to work!  Love you, Gma A.

So then ... 24 hours later we got out the door after the ladies pulled themselves together and put me in my Super Seat.  Mommy wants to time Gma A to see how 1) how accurate (safe) she can be and 2) how quick she can be.  I promise not to throw them off with flying spit up, leaking poo, or an extra heavy Super Baby Outfit.

First stop: Lowes.  I'm helping Mommy design and decorate our townhome.  Sign of Trouble #1: "Let's try to put his Super Seat in the shopping cart!  That will be great fun!" ... Ahem.  Enough said.

Mad Max is fading quickly.  You really can only see so many paint samples.  I can pick a paint sample in my sleep!

Okay, I'm back again.

Oh, Mommy.  I think the GRAY one.  (By the way ... yes, we are going back again to Lowes.  We picked the wrong paint color.  I don't think she listened to me the first time).

Second Stop: Barcenas Mexican Restaurant (again).  Sign of Trouble #2: Actually using a Changing Table in at bathroom.  Between Mommy vomiting in her mouth and screaming "don't touch anything, Mino!"... the situation didn't leave much to be desired.  But a better place was in the actual restaurant:

Here I am above with baby Lambie watching Mommy down a few margaritas... haha just kidding.

And then a bad, bad vomit happened at some point... but I got to put on the awesome bib that Auntie Tam bought me.  Although Auntie Tam and my Mommy are confused because it's actually MY blog.. haha.

After that we went to the mall to look for some window treatments ... we don't have any photos, and it is probably better that way.

Sign of Trouble #3: Two ... well three adults who have not passed any classes or tests on Super Strollers attempt to open a stroller in a mall parking lot.

Let's just say ... it took Gma A, Great Auntie Jackie, Mommy (almost breaking my Super Stroller)... a stranger (not a day over 18 years old), and a possible mall cop or ex-con for us to successfully open the stroller, enter the mall, leave the mall, and close the stroller.

Needless to say, I don't think we are doing that again anytime soon.

Mark Your Calendars: January 7, 2011

I'm beginning to recover from my birthday celebration ... over a week old now.  I'm going to fill you in on Mommy and Daddy's favorite day of all time: my birthday!

I'll start at the very beginning.

As you know, I was originally due 01/01/11, but who wants to be born on a holiday, really?  And being the Super Fetus that I was ... I want my one year old birthday to be on a Saturday, so bam - Mommy was set to be induced on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011.  Done.  But wait, it was all easier said than done.

Here we are above in the Labor and Delivery room ... we were all smiles and fun and games until those ********ing contractions hit us.  Weren't we, Mommy?  (We held out for about 4 hours before we got our pain meds.  We aren't doing that again!)  We were in good company though with our awesome nurses, Daddy, and Grandma and Grandpa Alcancia.  Plus Mommy had her iPhone to distract her ...and Auntie Tam was only a txt or phone call away!

How quickly we fall.  It's okay, Mommy.  I took care of you!  Once Mommy was pumped full of meds to get me out of my house aka womb, my heart beat dropped like a 12 year old's at a Bieber concert.  Therefore, oxygen mask.  My house / womb is lookin' mighty nice though, right?  You look good too, Mommy, ahem.

Check out Daddy ... holding it together for Train Wreck Mommy.  Nothing like your heart beat dropping to get you an awesome cute lambie from Daddy!  I love you, Daddy!  Thank you for my lambie.

This was our second nurse, Karen.  She sure was great!  She helped Mommy push.  If Mommy did a poo poo on herself, she would have cleaned it up ... but I'm sure you didn't do that Mommy!  Ahem.

Just when I'm getting ready for my big exit... or at least... pushing time, here we go again with the oxygen mask.  Despite her smiles, Mommy was scared for me!

Photos are left out of the next part of my story for obvious reasons.  Next came Mommy's pushing for about 1 and 1/2 hrs ... it was no trip to Disneyland that's for sure.  But Mommy and Daddy tried to distract themselves by watching the Rockets.  It felt much like Mommy was trying to cram my head into a root beer bottle, but I didn't have the heart to tell her ... I didn't think my Super Fetus body would fit out this way.

And that's when the fever set in.  It was all downhill from there for Mommy (until I arrived!) ... since Mommy got a fever, the doc was worried about me (she didn't know I was a Super Fetus).  She also concluded that my Super Fetus head wouldn't fit out of Mommy's Super Tiny Pelvis.  "We are going to have to do a c-section."  That's what I am talking about!  No cone head!  But the doc also said, "because you have a fever... we are going to have to treat Mad Max with meds in case he has an infection.  He'll have to stay in the NICU tonight and possibly through his time here."

So this meant Mommy wouldn't be able to spend time with me on my birthday night.  Poor Mommy cried and cried.  It's okay, Mommy!  I basically ran the NICU my birthday night!  Just call me Doctor Mad Max.

So fast forward to: Daddy throwing on his doctor scrubs, 10.5 billion doctors and nurses strapping Mommy down, Mommy getting super scared and getting the shakes, Daddy getting the camera ready... and Mommy getting cut in half...and here we go:

Mad Max the Super Infant!  I'll spare you the photos that came prior.

I'm not looking my best... somewhat bloated... needing a nice shower, etc... but what more would you expect?  My womb house was nice and all, but I wouldn't call it the Four Seasons.

Daddy then left Mommy to follow me and take photos.  Poor Mommy was busy getting put back together, having the shakes, and nearly vomiting on herself.  Sounds like a nice night out on the town (right, Auntie Tam?  Just kidding!)!  At least Mommy was distracted by some sports talk with the doctors.

They call me Mad Max for a reason.  Watch out infant ladies, a bad boy is in the NICU.

Barely out of the womb, and they already want my autograph.  Where is my Agent?

My hero, my Daddy.  I wonder what Mommy is up to?

Here we are ... one happy family!  Poor Train Wreck Mommy... she only got to hold me for about 30 seconds before I went back to the NICU.  I got to spend more time with Daddy and the Grandparents though (Alcancias and Johnsons).  More pics and stories to come from my birth night (including my Super Infant Weight and More!).
