next stop: Super Sadie's 7 Month Birthday and Summer

Hi Friends,

Happy 7 Month Birthday to Super Sadie!  She is 7 Months Old today exactly (May 22).  How did this HAPPEN?  The last part of her big first year ... and we have so many adventures to look forward to.  We don't have her 7 Month Birthday photos to share because we have to take those today (Wed).  Stay tuned!

There are also a few other huge birthdays this week ... Tia Tam's big 3-0 was Monday.  Happy Birthday, Tia Tam!  And Pops is on Saturday - Happy Birthday, Pops!  We love you both!

We usually ask ... what is your next stop this weekend?  One big thing we are looking forward to is Mommy said we might get to go swimming at our "resort" - Sadie's first swim! ... but mainly we are looking forward to our next big stop - summer!  About 1 and 1/2 weeks.  Can ... we ... make ... it?

But to celebrate Super Sadie's 7 Month Birthday Today ... I have ...

7 Random Things I Love About My Sissy

Note: This image is a little more blurry than we thought it would be!  Mommy and I need more rest, obviously.  And we are too tired / busy to look for another one!

1 - She knows how to crawl like a champ now - and right to my toys.  Thanks for always finding my trains, Sissy.

2 - She's the best bath time buddy until she goes after my toys and takes up all of my space.  Hey!  Mine!

3 - She lets me feed her now!  I'll sneak you a cookie one of these days, Sissy.

4 - She let's me sing to her.  And she loves going with me to music class.

5 - She always laughs at me ... or with me?  One of those.

6 - She lets me give her lots of big kisses and hugs.

7 - I'm her favorite person!

Mommy tells me almost each and every day "take care of your sister, always."  I nod my head and say, "Okay, Mommy."

We love you, Sissy!

Sadie's Week Who Knows?! Update

Hi Friends,

Note: We tried to post this last Friday morning (Thursday night), but Super Sadie woke up and well... here we are!  It's the thought that counts, no?

Okay, so we didn't do so well with our Wednesday blog, but please stay with us here.  Two more weeks until Mommy's summer break from school!

So I (Sadie) am officially 6 months now ...going on 7 months next week!  How the ... did this happen?!?!?  So what week am I now...?  Well, who really knows, and Mommy and I are too tired to count tonight.  But I will be 7 months officially on May 22nd!  Wow.

So how has your week been?

Sadie's Week WHO KNOWS Update

Weight: Well, first ... remember how Mommy use to take photos of me on my back?  Well, there is no stopping me now.  Photos like that are hard to come by now!

Not sure about weight.  I was a lil over 15 lbs at my 6 months check up (Mommy is too lazy / busy to look it up right now, wow).  We are going to guess about 16 or 17 maybe?

Height: Not sure.  We'll get back to you on that one.  Actually both of these stats are written down on something that is in my closet, that is in the room where Max is sleeping... yep, Train Wreck family.

Health: Knock on wood again - almost 7 months, and I haven't ever been sick!  (Meanwhile, brother has a fever this week.)

Sleep: I was doing really well at night ...but then Mommy moved me out of my bassinet, and then we moved.  I've been waking up, and I've been wanting to sleep with Mommy.  And Mommy has been too tired to do much different right now (hah!  Tricked her!).

But Mommy is starting to slowly work with me more at night, and she said in a few weeks when summer starts, she is going to focus on it.

As far as at the Grandparents... I've been doing better at Mimi's in my bed.  I think I like my swing at Ya Ya's.  I have them all fooled, obviously.

At night I sometimes also roll on my tummy to sleep.  Then crazy Mommy hovers over me, and she wakes me up.

Diet: Liquids - I've only ever had Mommy's milk!  Yay for making it to 7 months.  Mommy and I are shooting for a year.

I didn't have food until I turned 6 months - way to hold out on me.  My first food was rice cereal that Daddy made (Daddy makes all of my food).  I also have tried sweet potatoes, rice, bananas, and apples.  We will try new things this week too.  So far my favorite is apples.  And sweet potatoes.  I'm also eyeing Mommy's chocolate.

Social: I don't go too many places during the weekdays with the Grandparents, but Mommy and Daddy sure do keep me busy on the weekend.

Last weekend wasn't anything too unusual - we hung out a lot with family to celebrate Mother's Day (Happy Mother's Day to my Mommy and ALL the Mommies!).  And we went to Froberg's Farm to pick strawberries!  (My second time to go there).  This time Mimi and Grampi went with us.

Clothes: I'm pretty much in 6 months + clothes, although still squeezing in some 3 - 6 months clothes.  Tear!  In these photos I'm in a Carter's outfit.

Baby Gear: Last weekend Mommy bought me a little seat to eat in (and sit in).  Max is still in a high chair (although probably transitioning soon to a booster - so much easier to keep that crazy brother confined though... haha.  And we will probably eventually buy me a new high chair, but we are temporarily in a small apartment, so a small seat works for now.  And this new seat is SO much better than the Bumbo!  We high recommend.  So what is it?  The Mamas and Papas Baby Snug!  I actually preferred to get the seat that changed into a booster seat, but it was not available in the store or on-line.

Crying: I think I've been crying less at the Grandparents.  Mimi has told Mom I haven't cried at all a few times.

But basically I like to cry (sometimes) if I'm not near Mommy.  It keeps her in check!

Likes: So many new likes since we last talked!  I love being on my stomach, rolling around, sitting at on my own, moving to the sitting position on my own, getting in crawling position...doing push ups and so on.  I take baths with my brother now, and I really like swimming on my stomach.  I have ZERO fear of the water!  I can't wait until my first swimming experience.  We have a pool at our resort home (temporary home) so we will do that soon (it's going in the 90s this week).  I also really like playing with brother, and basically holding or chewing on anything.

Postpartum: From Mommy - not really too much new to report.  I am looking forward to summer break to get some more rest and catch up on a LOT of things.  I'm still losing hair, and still trying to get into a better eating and exercising habits.  What are your tips?

Milestones: So many since we last talked!  Many are mentioned above.  I'm keeping Mommy, Daddy, and Brother on their toes (and me, sometimes in plank position).  The biggest one this week is CRAWLING!  As of Thursday, 5/16 - I started making small crawling steps.  Then as of Saturday (5/18) I started crawling!  So much easier to get places that way.  I also had avocado for the first time on Saturday - the best so far!  Serve me up a margarita with that next time, please.

What is Max Up To This Week?: What is he NOT up to this week?  That is the question.  My big brother was off and on feverish this week, but nothing alarming enough to take him to the doctor.  He's talking up a storm, and he's making me laugh like crazy.

fun monday: Mommy! No pants!

Hi Friends,

Happy (Late) Mother's Day!  How was your Mother's Day?  What did you do for your Mom?

We (Sadie and I - Max) spoiled our Mommy with plenty of tears, pee, and poo, and Toms Loves Moms.  What more can she ask for?

Sorry we've been so MIA.  What have WE missed?  And what have you missed? ... lots... Basically Mommy's excuse is ... the move, getting sick, still coughing, Super Sissy not sleeping as well as she was (before the move and before the pack and play) ... end of the school year, exhaustion, too busy, etc.  But we are committed to doing better, AND summer is only three weeks away!  (So that brings me to the title of this blog ... don't you ever sometimes just NOT want to wear pants?  We are just ready to sit at home and well, not wear pants.)  So how do you keep up with everything?

Besides all of the above ... our weekends have been crazy!  We couldn't even update you without taking a year.  Mommy keeps us very busy with all kinds of fun things to do out and about.

But I look forward to updating you on Sissy's latest (and my latest)... what is exciting in her world lately?  Well, now she is in her second half of her first year.  She is just recently taking a bath with me.  Umm.  Joy.  She is also eating food now.  Luckily she hasn't moved on to my type of food because well, it's MINE.  She is also moving around pretty well and sitting, but she isn't crawling yet.  Thank goodness because all of the toys are MINE.

What about you?  What have you been up to?  We plan to / hope to be back on Wednesday - so please stay tuned!

We will leave you with a photo Mommy took of us in the bluebonnets (Sadie's first bluebonnet photos).  Not the best bluebonnet patch (they were at Memorial Park), but we didn't have time to go to the Hill Country to get better photos.  If you aren't from Texas, you may not know - bluebonnets are our much beloved state flower!  Google bluebonnet photos, and you will see what the big deal is ... And don't you love our babyGap "Peter Rabbit" collection Easter outfits?

Happy Spring!

-Max
