One Year Doc Appt: Dexter Baby

I think some might argue I am now a Super Toddler, but Train Wreck Mommy is in denial... (and she can argue that I am not toddling on my own yet, just wait Mommy!).

I have at least two blogs to finish about my big 1st Birthday Celebration, so stay tuned!  In the meantime ...

This week I went to the doc for my One Year appointment.  Somehow I ended up with my pants off?

This is my serious face with serious Dada.  Train Wreck Mommy seemed to have snapped only 50 pics instead of 100, so I think we are lacking on the awesome pics.  It's okay, Mommy!  Ahem.

Here My Hero Daddy is reading to me while we are waiting ...

Umm, were did my pants go?

Obviously it's a really good book.  Hey guys, I'm reading Chapter books now!

Cold scale, no pants.  Not.  Working.  By the way, I don't think my red socks match the red in my shirt.  Wow.

I'm up to 20.125 lbs now!  Beat that!  Actually, the Train Wrecks thought I weighed more because I'm a fighter, but I'm solid ... but light.  I'm also up to 30".  Train Wreck Mommy said I can ride roller coasters in Disney World this summer!

Here I am right after they took blood from my finger.  It was so interesting!  We heart Dexter.

Everything after this point was a blurrrrrr .... there was waiting ... and more waiting.  There was poking and prodding and gushing over how I was a Super One Year Old.

A few tid bits to share ... The Super Doc said I had Super Blood!  Seriously.  Must be all that great vegan food Daddy makes for me.

She also said I could eat peanut butter (and almost anything) now.  (Wow, that stuff is good.  Mommy and Daddy treated me that night.)

She said I could sleep with a blanket now... (hello!)... finally, I am not shivering to death all night.  But really, who needs a blanket when you are a Super One Year Old?  But I've now been sleeping with a blanket that "Auntie" Viola made.

The doc also said I needed to wean from the bottle by 15 months (umm, not too sure about that... Scotch for life), and I needed to wean from the paci by 15 months or by 3 years.  We'll have to talk about this one later.  Finally, no formula (only Scotch), and I get to brush my teeth in the bath tub (odd, I know).

How was your last doc appt?

Friendly reminder: be sure to FOLLOW my blog on the main page, and leave comments!  I love to hear from you.

Call 911! Call 911!

Last week was eventful to say the least.  I was enjoying a relaxing evening at home last Wednesday evening with Train Wreck Mommy, My Hero Daddy, and My Brother the Feline ...when BAM ... meet projectile vomiting Max, full exorcism, Max after his first frat party, etc.

It went on and on and on and on.  Mommy started to smell really bad.  Like throw up!

Fast forward a few hours (and me refusing to take liquids), and we ended up in a horror house aka the ER at Texas Children's Hospital.  Now I have nothing against the hospital, but let's say the ER was umm, interesting.

The Train Wrecks didn't take many photos that night.  They were too busy worrying about me.  Hey, Mommy!  I'm a Super Baby.

Luckily, they put me on what they call "Fast Track" (I'm guessing because I'm a Super Baby), so I ended up in the special waiting room for several hours.

Ohh, Mommy.  This throwing up is horrible.  I may not drink Scotch again.  I threw up into several different blankies in the waiting room.  I think you have to be bleeding from the head for them to take you quickly.

Daddy, lets escape.  Please!  What hour are we on?  I feel like I'm trapped in 24.

Shortly after this pic was taking (several hours later) a doctor finally saw me, and I finally took some liquid.  Boy that liquid tasted good!  The doc said I had some kind of bad bad stomach virus.  Lovely.

Later in the week ... I'm on like Day 1,000 of not really eating well.  But look!  Look at me!  I ate one puff.

I have good news to report though.  Finally ... now on Sunday, I'm eating *almost* (but not quite) normal again after the ER visit.  I need to bulk up for the holidays!

How was your week?  When was the last time you went to the ER?

Light Weight?

I went to my 9 month doc check up on 10/12.  18 lbs!  What!  Now I'm a light weight.  The doc said I was only 15th percentile in weight ... and get this, Basketball Player Mad Max is 75th percentile in height.

I must get this all from my Daddy.  Well, minus the height.  Love you, Daddy!

Here I am with Daddy eating up time while we wait on the doc.  Daddy!  Daddy!  Look how big my hands are! ...

The doc gave me a clean bill of health (even my ears after that bad, bad infection in month 8).  No shots today.  What?  Ripped off.  Piked.

The good news is she basically said I could eat anything ("anything" vegan Daddy says).  Uh, let's go home and eat some pizza, Mom!

How do you like to spend your wait time at the docs office?  Being silly?  Throwing puffs on the floor?

Weekend Update: Train Wrecks

Mommy and I have been train wrecks lately with the blog!  We are so sorry.  Mommy will do better with letting me use the computer.  Ahem.  In all seriousness, we've been more than busy.  Tonight we will catch up on our "Weekend Update" which is really our "Week Update" - including my birthday!  I'll provide you with a sneak peek right now.

On 10/7 it was my 9 Month Bday (and on 10/10 it was Dad's _ _ Birthday!  Happy Birthday, Daddy!).  I went to see the doc for my 9 Month Check Up.

Wow.  I didn't know I would be doing nude modeling at the doctor.  More on this soon!

Also as you may know it is "Fall"... (aka below 100 degrees) which apparently = Mommy putting me in a hideous "costume" and setting me down in the grass among round orange creatures.

What was my opinion of the situation?  Well, look at me.  That's my opinion.

Haha.  Love you Mommy!  Anything for our First Halloween!

How was your weekend?  Busy too?

Never Leave Home Without It

So Train Wreck Mommy took me to the doc today after I had a fever last night.  (Oh, Mommy ... nothing a little Scotch wouldn't cure!).

Mommy said we had an "interesting" visit because "we" forgot the "paci" in the car.  What do I say?  I said it was very b-o-r-i-n-g without Daddy.  The highlight?  Mad Max is now weighing in at ...

18.85 booyah.  Heavy weight cage fighter.  Take that, fever!

After my weigh in everything went downhill.  We looked out the window.  Boring.  I tried to climb the chairs, and Mommy held me back.  I wanted to go on the floor, and Mommy shouted "dirty!"... Mommy gave me magazines, and I ripped them up ... "They are not ours, Mino."... Mommy put me on the waiting table, and I had fun for about 10.5 seconds with the paper.  Mommy gave me puffs, but she didn't think it was fun to throw them on the floor.  And so on.

End result?  The doc said I was "super cute"...but "ohh that's a horrible ear infection."

Mixed signals.  Just cut to the chase, doc!

How are you?  Sick yet this "fall"?

My Crib Can't Handle Me Right Now!

Lately I've been into the military crawl.  I think I may be a future Navy Seal.  Thoughts?  I started actively creeping backwards a lot in the past week.  I just have to assess my surroundings, you know?  I'm an advanced Super Baby that way.

Mommy of course has been up to her photography ways.   She caught me in my military gear.

And did I mention?  My doc said Train Wreck Mommy and my Hero Daddy had to drop my crib all the way immediately, or I may flip out of it, and take off to a white sand beach somewhere.  She must know my Super Strength.

How do you like my outfit?  Do you have any outfits that give you Super Strength?  (Thanks to Gramby and Pops for my pants, and "Auntie" JCranc for my shirt!).

Have you been to my YouTube Channel lately?  I have a new vid almost daily, and you can see my military crawl.  Check it out here: Mad Max and Family.  Don't forget to also subscribe to my channel and comment!

Happy 1/2 Birthday To Me (Post 2)

If you missed my first Happy 1/2 Birthday To Me posting read it here: Post 1.  I had such a busy day ... that I have to share my Bday event in 10.5 billion posts.

Mommy bought me musical toys from Lakeshore Learning.  Good to eat, I say.  She said she forgot to buy aspirin to go with them.  Umm, what are you trying to say, Mommy?  Have you heard yourself sing?

Mad Max strikes a pose here.  Do you think I look like Daddy here?  Or TW Mommy?

So yesterday for my birthday I also went to my 6 month doc appointment with Mommy and Daddy.  They love to always give me my birthday shots.  Mommy said she thought I would weigh in at 17 lbs, Daddy disagreed.  For once Mommy was right with numbers!

Hey guys, umm ... I think we will need a bigger scale soon.

Here we are waiting for Super Doc.  Don't I look like a Big Boy?  Or is Daddy shrinking?

Shots you say?  I shall eat my hand!

Thursday Art Day with "Auntie" JCranc and "Auntie" Jessicana?  That's something to smile about.  (More to come later).

So what else did we learn at the doc?  A few high / lowlights: They measured my head.  I'm not sure I understand the point of that.  Hey doc, come over here, and let me measure that big ol' head of yours!  Haha, joking.  I'm in the 55% for height and 45% for weight ... so I'm basically hearing I may be an NBA star, and I can eat more dessert.  No?  The doc also poked and prodded me, and made me sit up, and I screamed at the top of my lungs.  I mean really, what is going on here?  Then I got my shots.  They don't even really hurt that bad, but I know Mommy is scared for me, so I cry.

But I am okay (playing with my music toys):

More soon on my Artful Afternoon!

What do you think about my new music toys?  How much do you think I'll weigh at my next doc visit (9 months)?

Mad Max loves followers and loves to hear from you!  Be sure to hit follow.

Middle Weight Champion

I went in for my 4 month doctor appt. check-up this month.  Mommy always says something about "shots" ... but I don't see much of a celebration going on at the doc.  Shots usually = me screaming in pain for a second, and then Mommy hugs me obsessively.  I'm fine, Mommy!

Prior to the "shots" (which do not arrive with lime, salt, or a beer on the side) ... I get my weight and height checked ... and a check-in with the doc.  For some reason we never end up in the fighting ring, but maybe next time.

15 lbs and 25 inches.  Watch out, ladies.  Is it time for Texans training camp yet?

Here I am below having a good ol' time with Daddy as we wait for the doc ...

So the doc walks in and says "so Maximino is neither maximum nor minimum - 50th percentile" ... (but Mommy and I both know that I am NOT average.)

A few highlights (besides flirting with the lady nurses and doc!) .... the doc said I was very advanced with my 6th Month Old trick (the old grabbing the toes trick) ... sometimes adults are easily impressed.  She also told Train Wreck Mommy and Daddy that I can start eating real food.  Finally.  When are we going out for sushi, guys?

Look for my blog soon about when Mommy and Daddy gave me "real food" ...

Mad Max ... Weighing In At ... (2 Month Birthday Part II)

So did I mention yet that I was treated today (on my 2 month birthday) to three shots!  Three!  Think back ... how did you spend your last birthday?

But actually... it wasn't really *that* bad.  Mad Max is a trooper.

Here I am in the doctor's waiting room with my crazy Ramona eyes.  Haha!

Well, your eyes would look like that too if you see all the sick kids that the cat dragged in!  Don't breathe kiddos!

And now ... Mad Max is weighing in at 11 lbs 7 oz .. heavy weight!  I look like I've been getting my spray tans, now haven't I?  I'm just gearing up for a trip to Miami ... Auntie Tam keeps mentioning it.  Although Mommy said "girls only!"... what?  No Mad Max?  Don't you remember how much FUN I was in Vegas ... and at Auntie Tam's wedding?

... I am also measuring now 23" long.  Although Daddy is sure I am taller than that now.  Um, okay, Daddy!

You are all just standing around and looking at me and making me upset.  I pulled out the pout face.  Mommy gets so excited when I do the pout face and tries to take pictures.  She.  Does.  Not.  Get.  It.

Oh look at myself.  Train Wreck.  Reality just hit me that I was at the doc / still at the doc, and I heard someone mention shots ... and not the kind that Mommy and Auntie Tam and guests did at my Baby Shower.  Sigh.

Daddy and I had to wait a while for the doc.  Look what happened ...

So what happened after this photo? ...

So the doc came in and confirmed I was a Super Infant.  It was pretty much a blur really.  She said I was in the 50th Percentile, and at first all Mommy heard was "what!  average!"... but Mad Max reassured her that actually meant, "Super."

So then what happened after that?  Well, the doc said ... "at about 4 months he may start rolling over"... well, well, well doc... I already rolled from tummy to back, which really apparently impresses these adult people.  She said I was just super advanced!

Then all of a sudden a (what I thought was nice) nurse lady came in ... mentioned something about shots, Daddy was looking at the window.... three terribly horrible pricks happened in my leg.. I screamed bloody murder like a Dexter victim, and then it was over.

I have no idea what happened to me, but it wasn't fun.  I didn't cry that long, but I decided to cry for a bit because it seemed like the right thing to do.  Now I sound like Dexter.

2 Months Going On 4 Months ...

Train Wreck Mommy took 10.5 billion photos and videos of me today on my 2 month birthday...

Was she trying to show her love and make up for scheduling a doctor's appointment on my birthday?  Questionable at best.

But ... Mommy, I still love you!

Here we were earlier today having a great time during Activity Time / Gym Time.  Mommy put me in my Threadless hoodsie.

You can get YOUR very own Threadless Hoodsie too.  Check out the link.  Daddy!  My hero ... Daddy! Check out the link.  There are several on sale.  Mad Max's 3 Month Bday is coming up soon... hahaha.  Love you, Daddy.

By the way, they even have a Kids Activity Corner on their website.  Mad Max likes companies that support kids (Super Kids or Not!).  I'm getting off topic ...

Am I almost as big as my Gym?  Almost time for an upgrade on my membership!

Here I am below hitting the swing after the gym ...

Good thing I took a nice nap... Mommy hit me with the "Maaaxxxxx, it's Mommy!  We're going to your doctor today!  For your 2 month check-up.... yayyy!"  Wow.

More on my birthday soon.  I can't fit it all in one post!

All Good Doc's are Former Hippies ...

I meant to share this earlier this week ... check out the shirt I got from my new Doc ... a hippie once, perhaps?

She sure did give me an extra large shirt ... Obviously she heard I was a Super Infant.

Mad Max is now weighing in at ...

Train Wreck Mommy, Daddy, and I got to leave the house today ... for my first doctor's appointment.  I wore a pimp outfit from Mommy's friend "Auntie" Tiffany, but I managed to poo up my back later that afternoon ...let's not talk about that though.  When a Super Infant has to go .... he has to go, okay?

Here I am with Daddy at my doctor's appointment.  Daddy had to strip me down to almost my diaper... whoa, whoa, whoa... now I know how Mommy felt at her doctor appointments.

Mommy found my doctor through her friend "Auntie" Ashley.  Thanks, "Auntie" Ashley!  She sure was nice.

So this will probably send the ladies into a line around the block ...but Mad Max is now weighing in at ...

As you may remember, I started at 7 lbs 15.9 oz.  The doctor even asked Train Wreck Mommy if she was feeding me Half and Half ... I'm just a growing boy, you know!

Not only that, but I am 2 inches longer.  2 inches closer to being the Texans kicker next season!

Here I am after my examination.  The doc said I am ready to take a Super Big Boy bath on Wednesday.  Finally!  The ladies like a fresh smellin' Mad Max.  She also said Train Wreck Mommy and Daddy should put me on a sleep schedule with sleep training this week.  What!  Sleep at night??  This is Mad Max you are talking about.  But then I figured this training schedule would be good preparation for the Texans Training Camp.

Rock Rock ... Rockabye Mad Max

Mommy has been M.I.A. again this week with her horrible cold and bloody nose (and wrapping up the end of the semester at YES).  Excuses I say!  Meanwhile, I am now in station -2, and I have much to update you on.

Daddy bought my rocker today (from Baby's 1st Furniture ... Mommy is not too impressed by their website, but she loves the store)!  Or rather, Mommy's Christmas gift.  Check it out!  I could live in this thing (Daddy wanted to make sure Mommy would be comfortable enough to sleep here... in case my crying is disturbing his beauty rest.  Oh, Dad!).  It leans back like a bed.

Mommy's Christmas gift won't come in for 4 - 6 weeks.  I'm due to arrive in 3 weeks.  Don't worry Mom, I won't cry too much.  I'm a super fetus.

More blog updates soon!  (Mommy finished my lambs yesterday).

Houston, We are in the Pelvis!

And other interesting facts of my day ...

It's been almost a WEEK since I've posted!  Between the holidays, Mom feeding my house yummy holiday food, Mom's lack of energy, Mom's addiction to working, and Mom's crying ... I can only find so much time to blog!  Let alone gather any photos for my blog to post this week.  I promise to update next time with photos too!  We are both just trying to pull ourselves back together now that we are back at work.

An even more exciting date count down... tomorrow will mark my one month away from my expected birthday.  Don't worry, I'm making a list and checking it twice (at Target, Pottery Barn Kids, and Giggle).

Today I had a doctor's appointment with Mommy.  We reached a milestone today ... she didn't pee on her hand!  Oh, Mommy.  Not because she is more skilled... I think she was just more tired, and it was pure luck!

Mommy didn't really like the doctor's appointment today ... (I will spare you the details..and what the scale said... Mommy said the scale lies), but we had some exciting news.  I'm wearing my helmet now aka the pelvis.  Not the most comfortable spot in the world, but the doc said it makes me closer to my birthday.  Who doesn't love birthdays?  I'm also at station -4.  What does that mean you ask?  Do you even need to know?  Doesn't it sound important?  You try doing that while you are living inside of Train Wreck Mommy's tummy!

I'm going to go help Mommy with her work and her Thank You cards.  Speaking of Thank You cards, I'm getting some early birthday presents this week!  Great Uncle Bill and Great Uncle Maria came to visit this weekend from OK.  They helped give me my car seat and stroller!  Thank you!  I tried to tell Daddy, "I'm at station -4!  I could fly home from the hospital!"... but Mommy INSISTS on being safe.  I also think it's funny that they plan on pushing me around in a chair with wheels... called a stroller!  Like I don't have strong legs like Daddy?  Maybe it's Mommy that needs the chair!

11.14.2010

Now Hiring: Fetus Assistant

Whew!  I've had such a busy week.  Who knew a fetus could be so busy?  I need a Fetus Assistant.

Auntie Tam came to visit this weekend.  She came in on the train wreck train!  At least... that's what Mommy says.  Mommy's been so tired ... and we've both been busy - so sorry to all my 10.5 billion blog followers.

On Friday, Auntie Tam went with us to our doctor appt.  At the doc, Auntie Tam said "don't pee on your hand this time!"... before we did our routine urine sample.  Poor Mom.  She tried her best.  She almost bent my house in half trying to bend over to see and make sure she didn't pee on her hand.  Fail!

My heart was a strong 152 (of course).  And Mommy was very excited because the doc said our house weight was good.  I heard her secretly think "I could have had a second donut this morning!"... The doctor also made a funny.  After Mom told her I was giving her a lot of pain, the doctor asked if she tink tinked on herself yet!  Maybe Mad Max isn't the only one that needs diapers??

Auntie Tam  even said "is she going to need to wear diapers!!!!"... I was LOLing in the womb.  The doctor said it probably wouldn't be that bad, but it might happen if she coughs or laughs.  I'll try not to kick you into a fit of laughter, Mom.  Auntie Tam tried to make a joke about the Duggars, but I think the doctor must not have heard her.  I heard you Auntie Tam!  I have pretty good hearing now.  I can even sing along to Mommy's hip hop.

Saturday was my big celebration!  More about my Mad Max Shower Celebration with Mommy soon...

At Least I Didn't Pee On My Hand ...

I may be swimming around in a pouch of liquid, but at least I didn't pee on my hand.  Mommy is so silly!

We had a doctor's appointment today, and Mom had to do her routine urine sample.  She's claiming my house is so big that she couldn't easily find the cup.  End result: Mom peed on her hand!  I'll remember that when she is complaining about my dirty diapers.  In fact, I am thinking about skipping the diaper stage.  I'm not sure how they will look with my newborn skinny jeans?

Then "Train Wreck" Mom almost started crying!  I can't take that woman anywhere.  They couldn't find my heartbeat right away ... and she flipped out.  My heart was strong of course at a solid 144.  Dad says I'm ready to start training for my first triathlon.

The nurse pushed and poked my house and told Mom my head was facing down ready for birth.  No wonder I feel like the blood is rushing to my head!  I'm upside down!  It's also more difficult to read the New York Times in this position.

Auntie Tam is coming to my next doctor's visit!  Let's hope Mommy doesn't embarrass the both of us by peeing on her hand again.

Here I am with Auntie Tam!  Well, you can see my house.
